'Twas the knot before Christmas ...
That may be taking liberty with the Clement Moore 
poem about Saint Nick's visit. However, here's a crafty
 little way to share your knotting skill with your friend's
 for the holiday.

The wreath is made with a flat version of a 3 lead by 7 bight by two pass turkshead. The bow is a square bow knot. Tied in green jute with a red gros grain ribbon bow it make a nice little tree ornament for the holidays.
 
The turks head is made basically by wrapping three times around the hand and using a simple three line braid technique except done in a circle. Once ends are aligned one is worked back following the original path.  Having completed the braid work into a flat form as shown in the picture.
